carla080404

after much wrangling with the armhole decreases, the back is completed! this project makes me very, very happy! for more carla news, check out the carla-along blog. email me if you would like to join us!

in other knitting news, there is the problem of squares:

squares080404

i knit these log cabin squares some 6 years ago. i was excited to knit enough for an afghan and then, like all things afghan related, i lost my steam. i coaxed them ouf of hiding yesterday, gave them the once over and decided that they deserve a second (well, actually it's more like a fourth or fifth) chance. i've gathered up some scraps and i hope to begin a new square today. i'll be moving in a month or two, so i'm considering this as a housewarming present to myself. i think i'll put out my gee's bend book and look for a bit of inspiration.

How big are they? If you knitted up 5 more you could make a funky cushion cover. Why knit an afgan when you could make a cover and have time left over to make a poncho or somefing?

they're 13x13 inches. and i really want an afghan.

That Gee's Bend quilting book is amazing. I stumbled upon it last winter and I never tire of looking through it. That book should keep you inspired!

wow carla is lookin' great. great color too. you'll get a lot of wear out of it. i can't seem to find any cotton tape locally. didn't realize it was in such demand.

I love Carla! Can't wait to see her all done.... That's a perfect color.

Carla is looking great! You're so speady...I had to rip mine a few times...

I like the new colour scheme for your blog!
